If you’re still on the hunt for holiday gifts, Target is offering a pretty sweet deal today: 10% off all gift cards.
While you might not really want to give a gift card to someone for the holidays, the promotion can actually come in handy if you just shop at Target on a semi-regular basis for random stuff, in that you can use it to give yourself an extra 10% off anything in the store you want.
The minimum purchase to take advantage of the deal is a $10 gift card, and the maximum value of gift cards you can buy is $300 (with a $30 max discount per household). Gift cards have to be purchased online, and the deal only applies to Target store gift cards, not those Target Visa and Mastercard gift cards you can also use at other retailers. You can’t use what you buy until tomorrow.
I’ve never done this at Target specifically, but it’s definitely something I’ve done more than once other places. If Target isn’t your store of choice I recommend looking out for similar deals elsewhere.
For instance, there’s a restaurant in my hometown that always offers crazy deals like $25 for a $40 gift card around the holidays. If it’s somewhere you shop often (I went there for dinner at least twice a month), there’s no rule that says you can’t buy a gift card for yourself. I would always buy a few every year and then use them over the next few months to get dinner at almost 50% off. Merry Christmas me.
Just because something is meant to be a “gift” doesn’t mean it can’t be a gift for you.
