College Students Who Need to Move Out Now Can Get 30 Days of U-Haul Storage For Free

U-Haul is offering 30-days of free storage to any college students who have been forced to suddenly leave their dorms due to the pandemic.

The deal is good for all U-Haul-owned and -operated facilities across the country. In order to take advantage of the deal students will need to not be an existing U-Haul customer and have a valid college ID card.

U-Haul typically offers 30 days of self-storage for free to communities that are being impacted by natural disasters. This is the first time it’s made a nationwide offer.

To take advantage of the deal, students will need to visit their local U-Haul storage facility and present their student ID. The promotion is (obviously) subject to availability, so if for some reason your local U-Haul location doesn’t have any available storage units then you won’t be able to get a free one.

For students that just want to get their stuff home, U-Haul also offers Collegeboxes, a set of five boxes that students can have shipped to them for free. Once the boxes have been packed, students can contact U-Haul to have them picked up and then shipped anywhere around the world or stored at a U-Haul facility.

Unlike the storage, shipping the packed boxes is not free. Having the boxes picked up at your dorm and stored through September is priced at $45 per box.
